The Old West isn’t the only place where horses are heroes. Remington Park is the home of thoroughbred racing July through November and spring quarter horse races. The facility also simulcasts the world’s biggest racing events from tracks across America. Participants will get to tour behind the scenes of this15-year-old state-of-the-art facility and talk with trainers and associates to learn about the life of a racehorse. A tour of the Clubhouse overlooking the racetrack and the simulcast area will follow. Lunch will be served at the Oklahoma County Line restaurant, voted the “Best Barbeque” in Oklahoma City. Kirkpatrick 4-H Farm and Express Ranch Tour
Tuesday, November 2 Enjoy a walking tour of the Kirkpatrick 4-H Farm in Yukon where youth are taught using “hands-on” agricultural learning experience. After a quick trip four miles north, folks will enjoy a box lunch at the Express Ranch. This ranch is an Oklahoma showcase of purebred Limousine and Angus cattle, a rare black and white Clydesdale horse team and a reconstructed Amish barn built in 1936. Robert Funk, founder and CEO of Express Personnel Services and 2000 Entrepreneur of the Year by the International Franchise Association, owns the ranch. Both tour sites are located on the historic Chisholm Cattle Trail. Cost: $20
